The Trailer As A Marketing Tool

I am able to explain the selling point of a film title.
I am able to point out key elements of horror genre.
I am able to interpret what the story is about.
I am able to identify the logo of the company.
I am able to identify what directors have been used as a marketing strategy.


On the film poster, the title is used as a selling point as the font is simple making it easy for the viewer to read and having the size of the font big and positioned in the center allows it to be noticeable.
This title is a selling point with the position within the trailer as the word is apparent in front of a black screen, enabling the name 'Cassadaga' to be the main focus. The binary opposition of the word colored in greyish white upon a dark background, makes it the more eye catching to draw to the attention of the significance of the film name.



Elements such as Puppets, Weapons and the use of Torches enables me to immediately recognize the genre of this film.













It is important that the distributor highlights the genre of the film as they will be able to use a specific technique to sell the film at campaigns. This is crucial information for them that they know the background of the story.


Through my assumption, I think the story will be based on a new life which turned into a nightmare. A girl with a bright future, haunted by the past of the 'new' home. Only for her to be possessed by the spirit of the haunted house. Which led to her family calling for help but the spirit was too strong, hence why her exorcism was needed but failed because her soul and body was endowed by the cursed spirit.

The distributing company of the film is Poiley Wood Entertainment.
